The Children's Justice Task Force Co-chairs, Karen Kirk and Jana Heyd, along with the task force members and program staff, would like to welcome you to the 2008 Children's Justice Conference. Whether this is your first conference or you are a returning participant, we know that you will find this year's conference agenda to be informative, inspiring, and educational.
The Children's Justice Conference will celebrate its 16th anniversary
this year. Each year, we strive to insure that all of the practice
areas and interest groups involved in the child welfare system are
represented, and that sessions are offered that will be of value to all
of the represented areas of practice. The 2008 conference will focus
on the prevention, assessment and treatment of child abuse and neglect
and the on-going care of affected children and their families. Whether
you are a foster parent, medical provider, law enforcement officer,
CASA, parent's attorney, state's attorney, social worker, treatment
provider or foster care alumnus, we know that you will find the
training sessions useful and informative.
The conference brings together speakers and trainers from many
different professions to share their knowledge and experience. The
attendees will leave the conference with a broad knowledge and with new
techniques they can use to better the lives of all of the children we
serve. The conference facilities are located in scenic downtown
Seattle, where there is ample space to house the many seminars and
sessions being offered during the conference. On-site parking is
available and catered lunch is offered both days. This is an
opportunity not to be missed and we hope you will join us on April 21st
and 22nd in Seattle.
