F-08 - Baby Cues: Understanding the Unspoken Language of Infant and Toddlers   Intermediate

  Child Welfare

Participants will learn how infants and toddlers use body movement and facial expression to express their feelings and desires. We will explore what cues are used to communicate they are enjoying an interaction, and which ones they use to say they need a break or are done with an activity. The impact on the child's relationship with their caregiver when these cues are followed or ignored will also be addressed. Participants will be able to see via video how a caregiver's sensitive response to a child's cues creates security.
